The New York State Education Department (NYSED) requires school district websites to comply with provisions of New York State Education Law § 2-d and the Family Educational Rights Privacy Act (FERPA). Susquehanna Valley CSD is committed to meeting or exceeding all state and federal transparency requirements on making data privacy and security information easily accessible for parents and eligible students.
The Data Privacy and Security pages on our website will ensure that parents and eligible students are informed as to how they can file privacy complaints with the educational agency/the NYSED Privacy Office and how they can exercise their opt-out rights under FERPA. - The Parents' Bill of Rights (required by 8 NYCRR § 121.3 (a), including information on how parents and eligible students can file a complaint (required by 8 NYCRR § 121.4) and information regarding contracts and written agreements with third-party contractors that will receive personally identifiable information (PII), as required by 8 NYCRR § 121.3 (d).
