Fly High SV Grads!
The 2021-2022 School Year is complete at Susquehanna Valley. We have come to the end of a challenging school year with much to celebrate! The Susquehanna Valley High School Class of 2022 Commencement was bathed in brilliant sunshine as this year's graduates crossed the turf at our stadium to the delight of family and friends filling the bleachers, capping off the end of year formal ceremonies. On Tuesday, June 21, Brookside Elementary School hosted its first formal indoor 5th Grade Moving Up ceremony in a couple of years, followed the next day by the 5th Grade Moving Up ceremony at Francis P. Donnelly Elementary School. At FPD's ceremony, guest speakers included FPD alumni Ava Spottek and Payton Lloyd, the SV High School Class of 2022 Valedictorian and Salutatorian (pictured below in June 2015 and June 2022).

During her remarks at FPD, head of the Class of '22 Ava fondly reminisced about the many years she was known in Saberland as the "girl with the cat ears," thanks to the ever-present headband she wore. Not only did she talk about how much the accessory helped define her, but she also brought them with her and put them on! We thought, it might be fun to take a look back at this year's high school graduating class as they ended their elementary school years in 2015. See if there's anyone you recognize in THESE PHOTOS.

Sign Up for Sports Physicals (DATE CHANGE!)
If your athlete needs a sports physical, and you do not plan on having your private medical provider conduct it, the school will be offering them, free of charge!  Please note that the original dates have changed, due to a scheduling conflict. Sports physicals for all potential athletes (for all 3 seasons in 22-23; fall, winter and spring) will be held at Richard T. Stank Middle School, Wednesday, August 10, 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and Wednesday, August 17, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.  An appointment is necessary and can be obtained by calling Kim Belnome in the athletic office at 775-9144 or Colleen Lynch in the MS health office at 775-9136. If you are not sure of the status of your athlete's current sports physical you can call the nurse of the building in which your student attends. Finally, the official start date for HS fall season sports (Varsity and JV) will be Monday, August 22.
As always, GO SABERS!

Graduating from high school is one of those milestone moments in a person's life, usually involving "leaving the nest" and taking that first solo flight, dealing with issues and responsibilities heretofore handled by mom and dad. With that in mind, SV High School recently partnered with Empower, a division of Horizons FCU, to "transport" senior Sabers to a fictitious but very real place called Mad City.
