At Richard T. Stank Middle School and Susquehanna Valley High School, students in Brooke Biancucci's Spanish classes have created a "wall of gratitude" to showcase not only their love and appreciation for the people (and pets) in their lives, but also their ability to express it in another language! 
BCMEA trio SV hosts hundreds at BCMEA Festival
Susquehanna Valley was bustling with activity - and the sounds of music - Friday, March 24, as our school hosted the final BCMEA Festival of "Music in Our Schools" Month. 
Kindergarten registration continues
There's still time to register your child for Kindergarten at Susquehanna Valley! Kindergarten registration is for children who will become five (5) years of age on or before December 1, 2023. Registration is open each school day, 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at the District Office. If you need a time outside of normal registration hours, please contact the district office to make arrangements. UPK registration has concluded. Lottery for UPK will take place in April. Kindergarten screenings will take place in May.

A group of Susquehanna Valley High School students put their skills to the test Tuesday, March 28 at the annual SUNY-Broome Robotics competition, and walked away with some impressive results.

It was a day for FUNdamentals! The March 26 SV Sabers Youth Softball Clinic brought JV and Varsity softball players and coaches together with youngsters in grades 3-6 in the high school gym. The clinic, organized by Karen Bidwell (who also provided LOTS of great photos!), was designed to introduce the basics of the game to the next generation of players: from hitting to fielding to catching and throwing, and running the bases and sliding! As you can see FROM THESE PHOTOS, it was a great turnout on a sunny Sunday afternoon in Saber country. 
SV pleased to assist BCSD gather stakeholder input
Our education partners in the neighboring Binghamton City School District are in the midst of a comprehensive study on communications and public perception. Susquehanna Valley is pleased to extend a helping hand in that endeavor, as we look to the future not only of individual school districts, but the region as a whole. Our individual success translates to collective success for the area we all call home. We encourage you to engage in the BCSD's efforts to gain a greater understanding of the public's opinions on our schools and our communities by participating in THIS SURVEY, which closes April 10. 
Social Media Presentation at U-E
It's clear that social media is here to stay in our society and along with it the concerns and questions about navigating what for many can be a confusing and potentially dangerous place. Our partners in education at Union-Endicott have invited the community to a presentation on these social media issues, Tuesday, April 25, 6:00-7:30 p.m. in the U-E District Office Board Room. The presentation, led by law enforcement professional Matthew Barcak, will be available both in-person and online through livestream. THIS FLYER has all the details.

The Susquehanna Valley High School Peer Leaders program has always been focused on bringing positive messages and hope to young people, and that mission was accomplished in a big way Thursday, March 9 on the volleyball courts in the SV High gymnasium.

The staff and students at Francis P. Donnelly Elementary School recently wrapped up a five week food drive, collecting more than 1,600 food items. The food drive's success has enabled us to officially open our new community food pantry: the Sabers Food Center at Donnelly!

For more than 50 years, a group of people have been helping SV graduates pursue further education with interest-free loans. That group, which oversees the Susquehanna Valley Student Educational Fund, has launched a new appeal and public awareness effort.

Workforce Wednesday is BACK at Susquehanna Valley High School! We've got a big room set aside for students to speak with representatives from area employers. Each Wednesday on their free time, students can drop in to get a quick overview of what kinds of skills these employers are looking for, and what students will need to do academically and otherwise to prepare themselves to qualify for jobs there. We are very grateful to the employers who have volunteered to send representatives to our building for Workforce Wednesday.

It was a chance for BOCES to showcase all the wonderful opportunities for career and technical education, and - most importantly - a chance for students to get an inside track on what academic path to take to their chosen field.

The Care Compass Network, and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration are offering a spring evening webinar series for parents/caregivers of middle and high school students. The goal is to save lives by getting young people the help they need in times of trouble.  
2022-23 Family ID Spring Sports registration
Susquehanna Valley partners with FamilyID for our online sports registration process. If you have not yet registered your grades 7-12 athlete for SPRING season sports you will need to go FamilyID to do so. THIS LETTER  contains all the instructions necessary for you to complete your athlete's registration.
