Pro barber helps FPD students look their best on picture day

A number of Francis P. Donnelly Elementary School students were displaying a little extra spiff and dazzle on School Picture Day October 5, thanks to the kindness of professional barber Dan Villano., from Faces Barbershop, Endicott. It just so happens that Dan's barber shop is where FPD School Resource Officer Tony Wood gets his hair cut, and Officer Wood recruited Dan to come to the school and help some of the students get ready for their official school pictures (with parents' permission, of course). Dan readily agreed, and left a bunch of young people grinning ear to ear as they checked their "look" before they stepped before the camera - including 2nd grader Carter Aldrich (pictured). And wouldn't you know it - Dan's act of kindness prompted another, when Jean and David Lindsey, Officer Wood's in-laws stepped forward to cover Dan's expenses through the memorial fund they established in the name of their daughter Cheri.
