At Brookside Elementary School, Mrs. Jennifer King's first grade students are now published authors. Using a national student publishing kit provided by Studenttreasures Publishing, students planned, wrote and illustrated their own class book entitled "When We Grow Up."
Mrs. King’s class did most of the work on the book in the months of March and April, deciding on a topic and dividing the writing assignments among the students. Each student went through the writing process until finally it was time to do the final copy to submit for publishing.
The best part? A classroom full of proud, smiling young authors, with a memory that will last a lifetime, plus, a full-color, deluxe hardcover book for the teacher or school library. The students’ parents can also purchase copies of these unique, childhood keepsakes.
As you can see from the smiles in the picture, we are very proud of ourselves!
