Susquehanna Valley CSD’s new baseball field will be dedicated to the memory of Coach Lou Howell in a special ceremony at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025. Family and friends of Couch Lou will be in attendance and all former Susquehanna Valley baseball players are invited to attend!
Coach Howell, a member of the Greater Binghamton Hall of Fame, enjoyed a 30-plus year career at Susquehanna Valley CSD. He was a beloved teacher and coach and also served as Director of Saber Athletics. Prior to embarking on his career as a teacher, Coach Howell played on the Binghamton Triplets baseball team from 1965 – 1968!
Lou Howell Field features a new scoreboard, new sound system, new lighting, and a state-of-the-art portable fencing system. Both the infield and outfield sport artificial turf. It was completed in August 2024, alongside the new softball and multipurpose athletic fields.
