Anti-Bullying Strategies

Anti-Bullying Strategy/Awareness

Susquehanna Valley’s anti-bullying strategy involves increasing awareness - within the schools and without - of what is considered bullying and/or harassment, and what to do if you spot it and are in a position to intervene.

  1. Stop the bullying and/or any misconduct immediately.

  2. Support the student who has been bullied.

  3. To the student(s) who bullied: Name the bullying behavior and clearly define how it is against our district rules.

  4. Empower the bystanders with appreciation if they were supportive to the student who was bullied or with information about how to act in the future.

  5. Impose immediate and appropriate consequences for the student(s) who bullied, followed by documenting the incident with the DASA Coordinator within less than two school days.

  6. Take steps to make sure the student who is bullied will be protected from future bullying, and the parents of all students involved have been contacted.

Stand Up to Bullying!

Our district actively prepared for DASA and continues to train new personnel joining the SV Sabers' team. Our job is to take prompt actions reasonably calculated to end bullying and harassment, create a more positive school climate and culture, prevent recurrence of the behavior, and ensure the safety of students subjected to such misconduct. A comprehensive approach that involves everyone is required. We all have a responsibility to provide our students with an environment free of discrimination and harassment.
