Carly Hattala earns SCSA

Carly Hattala earns SCSA

Each year, WBNG-TV 12, Broome-Tioga BOCES, and Senator Thomas Libous select high school students, active in community service, for Student Community Service Awards. This year, Susquehanna Valley is proud to announce that Carly Hattala is the 2015 recipient of an SCSA.  Carly, who'll be headed to Elmira College in the fall, has always been very active in the community. She counts her time as a nursing home volunteer, a peer leader in the Yes! Leads program, and as a children's church assistant among her many roles in community service.  Carly also excels within the halls of SV High School, where she is Salutatorian of the Class of 2015, played the lead role of Dorothy in the spring production of Wizard of Oz, and is a very familiar voice among the high school's stellar choir and select choir.  Carly and her fellow SCSA winners were awarded at an April 30 ceremony at BT-BOCES, where she was photographed with Broome-Tioga BOCES District Superintendent Al Buyck, WBNG Action News anchor Candace Chapman, and Emmanuel Priest, Senator Libous' Director of Public Affairs.
