Guest readers at FPD

Francis P. Donnelly Elementary School welcomed a pair of guest readers March 19. Cornell Cooperative Extension's Sarah Atwood and Broome County Executive Jason Garnar visited our second grade classrooms to read the book "I Love Strawberries." Ms. Atwood brought along some snacks to share; students gave an enthusiastic thumbs up to the snack, which - of course - featured strawberries. Photos HERE.

Pasta Palooza a deliciously good time

Thanks to all who attended the annual Pasta Palooza at Francis P. Donnelly Elementary School. It was a great turnout for both dine-in and take-out. Our staff and students turned the cafeteria into an Italian restaurant and worked hard to prepare and serve our guests with a lot of palooza!

planting a tree

A new addition to the FPD landscape

There's a beautiful new addition to the landscape at Francis P. Donnelly Elementary School, thanks to the efforts of Mrs. Burgman, a retired Donnelly staff member who returns each year to share her love for and knowledge of trees. This spring, children at FPD learned all about trees, planting, and taking care of our earth. This year, Mrs. Burgman and the children in Mrs. Hatton, Mrs. Selby, and Mrs. Miller's classes worked together to plant a red oak tree, which will grace the FPD landscape for years to come.
