Susquehanna Valley musicians and singers have been hitting all the right notes lately!
The SV High School Orchestra and Concert Band traveled to Owego May 18, 2022 for the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Majors performance festival. Both ensembles performed three challenging works for NYSSMA adjudicators from around New York. Following their performances, both ensembles were awarded Gold medals, recognizing their musicality, preparation, and overall performance.
But they weren't done yet....
The High School Concert Band, Concert Chorus and Orchestra, along with the Middle School Concert Band and Orchestra traveled to Hershey Park Saturday June 4, 2022. They performed several pieces for adjudicators. All of the ensembles brought home first place trophies with excellent and superior ratings. The High School Concert Band and Orchestra received the best overall awards. A special congratulations to Dan Petryszyn who received a special award for Overall High School Vocalist! The RTS Middle School also received the coveted Esprit de Corps Award, given to groups that display an exemplary attitude of positive support and outstanding personal behavior throughout the festival weekend.
