I am thrilled to have been given the opportunity to join the SV community as the new principal at Brookside Elementary School.
I grew up on the west side of Binghamton but currently live with my family in Vestal. I started my career in the Syracuse City Schools, where I taught special education for three years. Upon returning to the Binghamton area, I was an elementary special education teacher in the Union-Endicott CSD for 11 years, serving in a number of instructional coaching and leadership roles during that time. After completing my administrative certification at Binghamton University, I was hired as an Assistant Principal in the PALS Program at Broome-Tioga BOCES. After three years in that position, I had the opportunity to serve as the Principal of BOCES' district-based programs for three years. While my connections to BOCES are near and dear to my heart, I am so excited to return to an elementary school setting.
The staff and students at Brookside have already welcomed me with open arms and I have enjoyed getting to know everyone. It is clear that the close-knit, family atmosphere at SV is exceptional.
