Virtual STEM event with children's author a thrill for Mrs. Miller's second graders
screen shot of livestreamStudents in Mrs. Alexia Miller's 2nd grade class at Francis P. Donnelly Elementary School attended a live, virtual STEM event May 18, which featured Andrea J. Loney, the author of a popular book series called "Abby in Orbit." She taught students the importance of using both sides of their brains and how she brings creativity to her passion for STEM through writing books for children and instructing computer science courses at the collegiate level. The students had the chance to submit questions for the author to answer during the presentation, and the FPD students were very excited when Ms. Loney answered Ava Latini's question: "What is your favorite book?" The author's answer... "The Snowy Day" by Ezra Jack Keats!
