It is no small task to pass the rigorous audition process to earn a spot on the All State Symphonic Orchestra, but two gifted musicians from Susquehanna Valley High School did just that this past November. And they just happen to be twin sisters!
Emma Zelenyak, violin, and Elizabeth Zelenyak, clarinet, performed in the All State Symphonic Orchestra November 5 through November 8, an experience that culminated with a concert at the Eastman Theater of the Eastman School of Music. To appreciate how difficult it is to make it to that stage, consider this: more than 6,500 students from around New York State auditioned to participate. Only 889 were accepted - including the pride of the SV High School music community: the amazing Emma and Elizabeth Zelenyak.
