Howe siblings to compete in NYS Reflections
Dylan and Katelyn Howe are what you might call Reflections veterans. The National P.T.A. Reflections Program is the oldest program offering students an opportunity to create works of art for fun while reflecting on world issues. Dylan and Katie have been participants in this program since their days at F.P. Donnelly Elementary, and now - as SV High School students - their entries will be judged at the state level. These two talented Sabers have joined students from all across New York State reflecting on and interpreting the theme "Heroes Around Me." Their entries sailed through local and regional judging and are now among those being considered at the state level.

Dylan - competing in the Visual Arts category in the high school age division, entered artwork entitled You Are a Hero, and wrote in his artist statement: "My artwork shows what all heroes should have. The purpose of the mirror is to show that everyone can be a hero."  Katie, competing in the Literature catergory in the high school age division, submitted a poem titled Heroes Around Me. She wrote: "As I contemplated the theme of Heroes Around Me, I thought of all of the characteristics that define a hero. These are just a few of many ways heroes can be defined."
