A quartet of very talented SV High School Art students have received awards in the 79th annual Scholastic Art Awards Competition! In the Drawing category, Jackson Birtch received a Silver Key for his pastel Hog (pictured at left); while Abigail Mayglothling, Sofie Dyson, and Grey Milligan all received Honorable Mentions for their submissions in the categories of painting, drawing, and printmaking, respectively.
All four of the winning artworks were on display at the Arnot Art Museum, 235 Lake Street in Elmira, NY during the month of February. The exhibition is also available to view digitally on the museum's website: www.arnotartmuseum.org.
The Alliance for Young Artists and Writers celebrates the creative achievement of America's teens and, in 1923, founded the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards in order to offer regional and national recognition and scholarships to students based on their artistic talents.
