How much do you know about simple machines? You may know them from their more familiar names like incline plane, wheel and axle, pulley or the common screw. Students in Kurt Rezucha's 7th grade technology class at RTS know a LOT more about them now, and so do their classmates, thanks to a recently completed project.
The students worked in teams to research simple machines and create posters based on what they'd learned. The culmination of their work was a class presentation, where they showed their posters to their classmates and explained what they'd discovered about simple machines. "They got to be teachers," Rezucha said. "They gained a little bit of insight into what it takes to be a teacher standing in front of a class.
