Senior Grey Milligan took home one of only six awards at the 2025 Emerging Artist Competition for High School students. On Friday, March 7, Grey's ceramic teapot, titled "Hindrance of the Skin Basket," received the award for "Excellence in Composition!"
Each year, the Broome County Arts Council invites area art teachers to submit up to 12 pieces of exemplary artwork to be adjudicated by art professionals working in the community. This year, 100 artworks from nine area high schools were selected and will be displayed at the Artisan Gallery in Binghamton for the month of March. Awards were granted in five categories and for Best in Show. All pieces were scored individually, with the highest scores receiving awards.
Congratulations to our other talented SV High School artists who had their work selected for this exhibition - Riley Masters, Madelyn Fabrizi-Shover, Madelyn Strnatka, Vincenz DiFulvio, Rylan Everson, Amethyst Albert, and Jolene Pleus.
