Pre-Kindergarten Teacher highlighted as WICZ "Teacher of the Week"

"I just want to be the reason that they love to come to school," shared Brookside Elementary Pre-K Teacher Becky Wolf during her interview with WICZ-TV as part of their "Teacher of the Week" series.

Originally a Reading Teacher at Donnelly Elementary, she has spent 15 years supporting students in the Susquehanna Valley CSD. Mrs. Wolf was an alum of Susquehanna Valley herself and says some of the teachers here were the reason she decided to go into education. "I had teachers who inspired me," she shared. "Teachers who weren't afraid to be silly, teachers who had a passion for teaching!"

She also knew she loved working with children and had a natural ability to connect with them. After graduation, Becky went on to earn a BS in Combined Early Childhood/Childhood Education from SUNY Cortland and a Masters in Literacy Education from Binghamton University.

She says being a Pre-Kindergarten teacher is tough but super rewarding. Her philosophy for teaching is to allow her students to learn through play, and they don't even know they're learning. Becky says that, ultimately, she wants her students to "always keep learning and have fun!"
