Runner of the Year Brynn Hogan signs with Binghamton University

The Hogan Family

Brynn Hogan is having one of those years. And that's a good thing!

When it came time for area and regional sports reporters and editors and their media outlets to choose a female high school runner of the year, you might say Susquehanna Valley's Brynn Hogan ran away with it. In addition to being named an Elite All Star for the Fall 2022 girls cross country season, Brynn also captured the Runner of the Year title! And, as fate would have it, Brynn learned of this honor on the very day she would be the guest of honor at a signing ceremony, committing to Binghamton University, where she'll run track and cross country. Flanked by proud parents Dan and Shannon and big brother Caiden, and joined by dozens of friends and supporters in the high school gymnasium. Brynn made it official at the signing table. Bynn's brief remarks of thanks were sandwiched between well-earned accolades from Athletic Director Ed Swartwout and coaches Grace Tabeek and Chad Freije.

While Brynn's time as a Saber is winding down, her coaches and friends were happy to know that Brynn isn't running too far away from home!

Talk about a senior year to remember: After securing a Section IV Class C Championship November 3 at Chenango Valley State Park, Brynn competed in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Championships in Verona. Her fourth place finish in the Class C race earned her an appearance at the NYS Federation Championships at Bowdoin Park, Wappingers Falls, where she finished 47th in a field of more than 300 runners! Oh, and there's that whole "Runner of the Year" thing, too.
