Guest reader shares once-in-a-lifetime adventure with RTS students

Chapman answers questions

In the Richard T. Stank Middle School Library, Melissa Chapman recently spoke to Andrea Gresko's 6th grade Reading classes about her book "Distant Skies." The book chronicles Chapman's experiences traveling by horseback across the United States.  She left Conklin May 1, 1982 and finally reached California in late November of that year. The students asked questions not only about Chapman's once-in-a-lifetime experiences, but about the steps involved in getting a book published.  Chapman is currently writing another book; this one about a wild horse found in Montana.
