A Message from the Superintendent

The summer is quickly coming to an end, and I am excited about the start of the 2018-2019 school year!
As you know, there has been a great deal of work completed on Phase I of the Capital Project this summer.  The multi-purpose athletic stadium field has been completed and is ready for the new school year.  It has been great to see the excitement in our students who all know they will soon be playing on the new field.  We have scheduled the grand opening ceremony for the field on Friday, October 5 as this is our first football game under lights.

Both the Middle School and High School buildings have had significant classroom renovations.  All secondary classrooms have new smart TV technology installed in each room.  Every student in grade six through twelve will have a one-to-one Chromebook that connects to the room technology.  Renovation of the High School auditorium stage is on track to be completed by the start of school.  The Middle School kitchen reconfiguration has been completed allowing it to serve as the central kitchen for the secondary campus.  Numerous individual space reconfigurations and upgrades have been completed for instructional programming.  New electrical upgrades to both campuses are ongoing.

A small amount of work remains on the secondary campus for Phase I and will be captured when students are not in session throughout the school year.

Phase II of the project will begin next spring to both the Francis P. Donnelly and Brookside Elementary buildings.  I again want to thank the community for their continued support to the district.  This is an exciting time at Susquehanna Valley; the work completed in these projects continues to make Susquehanna Valley a great place to live and learn.
