As of Friday, February 19, Susquehanna Valley has exhausted all of our emergency closing days. For the remainder of this school year, on emergency days like snow days, rather than close, we will move to remote learning on those days. All students should anticipate remote instruction on future emergency days this year. By utilizing this option, we will preserve the originally scheduled school breaks for the remainder of the year.

SV School Reopening Frequently Asked Questions

When the bell rings will all students be in the hall at the same time?

Students will enter the hallways with one-directional traffic at staggered times.  This will be done in a manner to best reduce hallway congestion.

Are they using lockers?

No, students in grades 9-12 will be permitted to carry backpacks with them during the school day.

When can we expect to see Middle and High school student's schedules?

Student schedules for grades 6-12 will be available during the first week of September.

Will the kids be changing classrooms each period?

Only students in grades 9-12 will be changing classrooms.  This is due to the varied academic pathways that occur at the high school level.  Students in Pre-Kindergarten through grade will only leave their classrooms for physical education and lunch (and to use the restroom when not located inside the classroom).

How does a student get questions answered or seek extra help outside of class remotely or in school?

Students will be encouraged to communicate with teachers during their instructional time with that teacher and then to make use of the communication method preferred by the teacher.

Are all courses being offered (core and electives)?

Yes, all classes that would typically be offered are being offered.
