SV School Reopening Frequently Asked Questions

Section 5: REGARDING STUDENTS IN GRADES 4 AND 5

How will 4th and 5th graders be dismissed at the end of the day?

We are still working on the details for student drop off and pick up at this time.

How will recess be held?

Students will have time for recess as they did previously. They can engage in activities that allow them to maintain the required social distancing.

Where will student belongings be held?

Students in grades 4 through 8 will be provided with a small tote box to keep their belongings that remain at school during the day. It will be kept with them at their desk.

If we go fully remote for elementary, what will that look like?

This will be similar to what is planned for students who are learning remotely beginning in September. Teachers will send home a schedule of Zoom times for instructional purposes and assign other work through their chosen learning platform.

When will we find out who the teacher is and any supplies list required?

Teacher assignments and supply lists will be sent home on August 21.

Will the kids be changing classrooms each period?

Only students in grades 9-12 will be changing classrooms. This is due to the varied academic pathways that occur at the high school level. Students in Pre-Kindergarten through grade will only leave their classrooms for physical education and lunch (and to use the restroom when not located inside the classroom).
