SECTION 4: REGARDING STUDENTS AT SPECIFIC GRADE LEVELS

STUDENTS IN PRE-K THROUGH GRADE 3

When is the first day of school and will there be orientation sessions prior?

Students in BK and Kindergarten will be scheduled for orientation sessions on September 14 and begin school on September 15. Students in Pre-Kindergarten will be scheduled for orientation sessions on September 15 and begin school on September 16.

How will recess be held?

Students will have recess as typical except that they will be asked to maintain distancing and will only be with their own class, not a whole grade level.

Will it be a curbside pickup for elementary kids?

We are still working on the details for student drop off and pick up at this time.

When will we find out who the teacher is and any supplies list required?

Teacher assignments and supply lists will be sent home on August 21.

If we go fully remote for elementary, what will that look like?

This will be similar to what is planned for students who are learning remotely beginning in September. Teachers will send home a schedule of Zoom times for instructional purposes and assign other work through their chosen learning platform.

How will the 4th and 5th graders be dismissed at the end of the day?

We are still working on the details for student drop off and pick up at this time.

How will recess be held?

Students will have time for recess as they did previously. They can engage in activities that allow them to maintain the required social distancing.

Where will student belongings be held?

Students in grades 4 through 8 will be provided with a small tote box to keep their belongings that remain at school during the day. It will be kept with them at their desk.
