SV Hosts First to Say Thank You
SV Hosts First to Say Thank YouSusquehanna Valley High School was awash in red, white and blue Tuesday, May 24 as the school and community played host to what has become an annual event: "The First to Say Thank You", honoring high school seniors planning to enlist in military service upon graduation. The event, co-sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Conklin and Our Community Salutes of Broome County, featured musical performances by the SV Concert Band, Select Choir, members of the orchestra, and flute soloists. The keynote address was delivered by Brigadier General Michael C. Swezey, Assistant Adjutant General - U.S. Army and NY National Guard. SV Superintendent Roland Doig welcomed the recruits and their families, along with a host of area dignitaries. The event was co-hosted by WBNG Action News anchor Caroline Coggin and Binghamton City Councilman Justin MacGregor. Photos from the ceremony are HERE.
