Broome County Legislators Kelly Wildoner and Scott Baker invited the state champion SV Sabers girls basketball team to attend the legislature's April 16 regular session to be formally honored for their first-ever state title. Coach Chad Freije and his players were joined by proud parents and SV administrators in the legislative chambers as the lawmakers issued a formal proclamation and provided each team member with individual certificates.
On March 25, Broome County Executive Debbie Preston treated the team to a pizza and wings party at RTS Middle School. Superintendent Roland Doig and Board of Education President Robert Strick were among the district supporters on hand to help celebrate the team that made history!
