SV Hosts Safety Exercise
SV Hosts Safety ExerciseOn Saturday, March 19, Susquehanna Valley hosted a multi-disciplinary school safety exercise, assembling more than 100 members of local and regional police, fire, EMS, hospital, school, county and communications personnel. The daylong exercise gave participants a unique opportunity to focus shared attention on a variety of school emergency situations and the role each responder plays. Broome County Disaster Preparedness Coordinator Michael Ponticiello served as Exercise Coordinator, facilitating extensive discussion among exercise participants and observers. Superintendent of Schools Roland Doig commended the thoroughness of the exercise presentations, and the dedicated professionals who conducted the exercise, and shared their expertise in tabletop discussions: including Broome County Sheriff David Harder and Broome County Executive Debra Preston.
