SV High students thankful for food donations
Susquehanna Valley High School Student Council organized yet another successful food drive, concluded just in time for Thanksgiving, delivering abundant food items to area families.

"Each first period class was assigned a food item. When a student brought in one food item or $1.00 they taped a turkey to the door," explained one of the coordinators of the food collection, Heather Fitzgerald. " The winner of the Turkey Contest won a breakfast pizza from Student Council.  I collected the donated food items and made a list of what was still needed and Vince Cooper, Student Council member, purchased all the extra items with money that was donated.  All extra money was used towards our gift drive.  Our food baskets are not just for Thanksgiving, we provided a variety of food because of other food needs. Our baskets included, canned soup, pasta, tomato sauce, mac and cheese, peanut butter and jelly and cereal and all the regular items for a turkey dinner."
