National Honor Society gains 18 Sabers
The National Honor Society now counts eighteen Susquehanna Valley High School students among its membership. The ANNUAL INDUCTION CEREMONY was held November 16 in the SV High School auditorium. Inductees and current members processed to the stage with accompaniment from the SV High School Orchestra, under the direction of Mrs. Eileen Miller.
 
Chapter President Joshua Andrade led the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance and offered opening remarks, followed by remarks from principal Mr. David Daniels. Andrade, Emily Jacobs and Hannah and Michaela Haskell spoke of the National Honor Society's principles while conducting the traditional lighting of the society torches. The SV High School Select Choir, under the direction of Mr. Jim Apicella, lent their considerable talents to the ceremony, offering the selection You Raise Me Up. This was followed by special remarks from past member Colin Manchester, current member Vince Cooper and new member Brooke Ryder. Mrs. Jody Butts introduced and inducted the new members along with Mrs. Laura Mecca-Retzlaff, who also offered closing remarks.
 
2018 Inductees are: Kelly Cady, Benjamin Crisman, Darren Dietrich, Ryan Ewanow, Connor Gorman, Carter Gray, Quincy Gray, Michaela Henderson, Cody Jacobs, Christian Kick, Nicholas Merrell, Emily Repp, Brooke Ryder, Kyle Spisak, Logan Stettinius, Zachary Taro, Esther Valentine and Dan Wager.
