Community gathers to honor Tarbox family

With so many people touched so deeply by the tragic loss of four members of the Tarbox family in a May 21 house fire, the need and desire arose to have a place and a time where everyone could gather to celebrate the lives of Nicole, Mya, Evyn and Mariah Tarbox. Family and friends of the Tarbox family organized a community gathering Tuesday, May 26 at Susquehanna Valley High School. An overflow crowd of well-wishers signed memory books, viewed photo and video slideshows of the Tarbox family, witnessed a solemn candle-lighting ceremony and heard the Reverend Curtis Whitman deliver a message of celebration and hope. Following the ceremony, visitors made their way to the high school gymnasium for a meal, with food and other supplies donated by a number of local businesses.

The Tarbox family would like to gratefully acknowledge the outpouring of support from friends and community. Words can never express how this community has gone above and beyond to bring comfort and offer help in any way they could.
