Ed Gerety returns to SV with powerful message

Ed Gerety

At SV, we work diligently to nurture in our schools a safe learning environment through the understanding that schools are safest with a climate of respect and strong relationships. A well received high energy presentation May 9 strongly supported that mission.  Students in grades five through eight participated in an assembly program in the Susquehanna Valley High School auditorium featuring renowned speaker Ed Gerety, who offered a  program called "Standing Up for Your Greatness and for the Greatness of Others.”

Mr. Gerety is an author and one of the top professional youth speakers and leadership trainers in the nation.  His inspirational and powerful programs have taught over 2 million students in all 50 states and Canada the life skills essential to develop leaders in school and in life.

Among other things: Mr. Gerety - during his May 9 visit to SV - focused on:
•  The power of respect and responsibility
•  The power we have to reach and make a difference
•  The impact and consequences of our choices and decisions
•  Appreciation for our abilities and the people in our lives
•  The courage to believe in one self and step up as a leader
•  Creating a positive culture

On May 9, fifth grade students from both Francis P. Donnelly and Brookside Elementary Schools were transported by bus to the high school auditorium, to join Richard T. Stank Middle School students for this assembly program.  We were very pleased to be able to provide our students with such an outstanding opportunity to hear one of the nation’s leading youth speakers.  His message of “Standing Up for Your Greatness and for the Greatness of Others.”  is an inspirational message for us all.  PHOTOS FROM MR.
