Renowned national speaker coming to Susquehanna Valley
As we work diligently to continue to make our schools a safe learning environment through the understanding that schools are safest with a climate of respect and strong relationships, we are excited to announce a program that strongly supports that mission.  Students in grades five through eight will participate in an assembly program on May 9, at 10 a.m., in the Susquehanna Valley High School auditorium.  Renowned speaker Ed Gerety will address our young students, presenting a program he calls "Standing Up for Your Greatness and for the Greatness of Others.”

Ed Gerety (pictured at left during a 2015 presentation at RTS Middle School) is an author and one of the top professional youth speakers and leadership trainers in the nation.  His inspirational and powerful programs have taught over 2 million students in all 50 states and Canada the life skills essential to develop leaders in school and in life.

Among other things: Mr. Gerety - during his May 9 visit to SV - will focus on:
•  The power of respect and responsibility
•  The power we have to reach and make a difference
•  The impact and consequences of our choices and decisions
•  Appreciation for our abilities and the people in our lives
•  The courage to believe in one self and step up as a leader
•  Creating a positive culture

On May 9, fifth grade students from both Francis P. Donnelly and Brookside Elementary Schools will be transported by bus to the high school auditorium, where they will join Richard T. Stank Middle School students for this assembly program.  We are very excited to be able to provide our students with such an outstanding opportunity to hear one of the nation’s leading youth speakers.  His message of “Standing Up for Your Greatness and for the Greatness of Others.”  is an inspirational message for us all.
