SV earns Utica National safety award

Each year, the Utica National Insurance Group recognizes school districts and BOCES across New York State for efforts to keep students, staff and visitors safe. Susquehanna Valley earned the group's highest level award - titanium - by meeting specific safety enhancement criteria in areas including bullying prevention, playground safety and other areas.

"Safety and health concerns continue to be a priority in our school districts," explained Brian Saville, Resident Senior Vice President in Utica National's Educational Institutions Unit.  "Districts that go above and beyond to provide a safe, healthy and focused culture for learning are to be applauded, and we're pleased to count Susquehanna Valley Central School District among them." Mr. Saville noted that following the safety program enables districts to pinpoint specific threats to safety and address them proactively.

Susquehanna Valley officials accepted a certificate of recognition at Utica National's 38th annual school safety meeting.
