For many, if not most, of the members of the Susquehanna Valley High School Class of 2018, it was a return to their academic roots. On June 11, most of the graduating seniors hopped aboard buses and headed to Francis P. Donnelly and Brookside Elementary Schools to walk halls lined with well-wishing students, faculty and staff. Students held celebratory hand-made posters, and held out their hands for high fives as the seniors paraded past in their caps and gowns. PHOTOS HERE. [...click for more]

The annual Flag Day celebration at Francis P. Donnelly Elementary School created a varitable sea of red, white and blue! Old Glory was the center of attention on a breezy June 14, as students paraded to the school courtyard to honor the nation's banner. In addition to numerous musical performances, there were tributes to attending military veterans, the yearbook dedication, and a fond farewell to longtime Donnelly faculty and staff who are retiring this year. PHOTOS HERE [...click for more]

Susquehanna Valley is pleased to welcome career law enforcement professional Gerry Mullins as our new School Resource Officer.  Mr. Mullins, whose professional career includes a four year tour of duty with the United States Marine Corps and 29 years with the Vestal Police Department, rising to the rank of Lieutenant, has spent his first days on the job here at SV introducing himself to students, faculty and staff.  He is no stranger to the public education setting.  Prior to accepting the SV S.R.O. post, Mr. Mullins was a key member of the Binghamton High School Safety Team.  Mr. Mullins says he will be a visible presence in our buildings and is committed to SV's mission to provide a safe, bully-free learning environment, fostering positive relationships both within the buildings and within the community.  [...click for more]

Voters in the Susquehanna Valley School District have approved a $38 million budget for the 2018-19 school year. The vote was 303-40. Re-elected to three year terms on the Board of Education: Robert Strick (289 votes) and Mark Leighton (254 votes), along with Jack Bell, who received 269 votes and will serve his first term on the board - also a three year term. Voters also approved a bus purchase proposition 196-48.  [...click for more]
