Susquehanna Valley High School senior Ryan Ewanow has joined an elite group of high school students across the U.S. Ryan has been named a 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program Commended Student, thanks to his outstanding performance on a rigorous qualifying test. Of the more than 1.6 million students taking the 2017 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) last October, 34,000 high performers were named Commended Students and were recognized by the NMS Corporation for their exceptional academic promise.  [...click for more]

When Susquehanna Valley included a new artificial turf multi-sport field in the 2016 voter-approved capital project, it was always our goal to partner with youth football programs in the district to have them play on the field. For the Junior Sabers program in the Town of Binghamton, that partnership officially began September 9 when the boys in blue and gold took to the new field.

The YMCA of Broome County is looking forward to the start of the 2018-2019 school year with Brookside Elementary. The After-school program provides academic assistance, games, engaging art activities and character development. New this year, we will be incorporating STEM activities into the after-school program. STEM incorporates science, technology, engineering and mathematic activities.

The Y after school program is available for kindergarten through age 12. The after-school program begins immediately after school, including scheduled half days, and runs until 6:00 pm. A nutritious snack will be provided daily. The program is open to both Brookside and Francis P. Donnelly students, who are bused to the school.
