Music filled the air, along with the enticing aroma of turkey, potatoes, stuffing and more, as the middle school welcomed senior citizens to the school's annual holiday luncheon Thursday, December 15. Music department staff Mrs. Markstein, Mr. Apicella and Mrs. Perkins and their talented students played and sang holiday favorites as student council members served food and drinks to our guests.

RTS Middle School musicians and singers performed their annual Winter Concert Tuesday, December 13 to a packed high school auditorium audience. It was a night that had toes tapping and holiday spirits rising!

Susquehanna Valley's Richard T. Stank Middle School hosted its annual Senior Citizens Thanksgiving Luncheon, Tuesday, November 22, 2011 in the school cafeteria. Students and staff prepared and served a turkey feast with all the traditional trimmings. Musical entertainment was provided by Mrs. Markstein and her flute ensemble. PICTURES HERE.

The Mathways to the Stars Program at Richard T. Stank Middle School has wrapped up for the 2011-2012 school year. At the closing ceremony Thursday, November 3, participating students gave Powerpoint presentations on their activities and experiments related to math and science.

This year's Mathways "Stars" are: Kelly Cady, Sara Figura, Parker Fanara, James Gardner, Adriana Giammarino, Nicholas Giles, Emily Jacobs, Zoe Johnson, Hannah Haskell, Michaela Haskell, Kyle LaVergne, Holly Manchester, Nicholas Miller, Rebekka Stewart, Sophia Pappas, Austin Theodoroff, Nykolas Zollbrecht, Zoe Rowse, Alyssa Barrett.

A number of these students and others will be taking part in the Broome County Mathalon, Saturday, December 3, 2011, 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Vestal Middle School. Mathways to the Stars co-advisor Andrea Gresko will coaching two teams representing Susquehanna Valley. Students participating are: Alyssa Barrett, Corey Bonds Jr., Jared Basmajian, Kyle LaVergne, James Gardner, Chris Harold, Parker Fanara, Zoe Johnson, Sophia Pappas, Rebekka Stewart, Nykolas Zollbrecht, Nick Giles.
