SV High School students and staff came through again for the annual Thanksgiving food drive, enabling a number of area families to enjoy a bountiful holiday. During the month of November, high school students were invited to donate canned goods and other non-perishable foods for the Thanksgiving drive. Grocery bags were placed in each homeroom and students were encouraged to bring in items to fill the bags. In addition, members of Student Council collected spare change during lunch blocks to help purchase frozen turkeys. Student Council added a friendly competition to the annual food drive - with the homeroom collecting the most food winning a breakfast hosted by Student Council. The winner: Mr. Swingle's homeroom, which collected 14 bags of food. Mrs. Russell's homeroom was second with a total of 11 bags. Student Council thanks everyone who participated, including students and their families, faculty and staff, for their generosity.
