RTS Middle School men plan a razor-free MOvember

A memo has been circulated among male staff members at Susquehanna Valley's Richard T. Stank Middle School, asking them to put away their razors during the month of MOvember. MOvember is the month formerly known as November where men grow a moustache for 30 days to raise awareness and funds to help find a cure for prostate and testicular cancer.

"After testing the waters and seeing what kind of support we would have here at RTS, we have come to the conclusion we are a Movember school", said organizer Dan Kosick. "With at least nine males (including principal Roland Doig) already verbally committed to growing a stache for Movember this should be a fun event for a great cause!"

The school's men will start the month with a nice clean shave and will sit for a "before" picture. During the month, donation cans sporting pictures of the RTS Middle School MOvember participants will be left out during lunch blocks; students and staff can donate spare change to "vote" for the best 'stache. All proceeds will go to the Prostate Cancer Foundation and the Lance Armstrong Foundation.

Kosick says the school will register its team on Livestrong.com.
