Brookside musician making his mark
Brookside Elementary School fifth grader Joshua Shore is making his musical mark. Joshua sings in the school chorus and plays the violin with the advanced orchestra. On January 11, he auditioned for the Parlor City Boys' Choir, made up of Southern Tier area boys ages 9-12. They perform at nursing homes, hockey games, Hershey Park, First Friday Walks, and more. To audition, Joshua sang America the Beautiful and was accepted to the choir.
"We are very excited since Joshua will be our first student from Brookside to participate in this select group," said Brookside music teacher Kelly Dyson. "I knew he'd make it since he is a very musical student. I am very proud of Joshua and wanted to make sure he was recognized."
