Reading for the Record at Brookside
On October 8, 330 students at Brookside joined more than one million children across the United States in simultaneously enjoying the same book. This year's Read for the Record featured Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Twenty-two Brookside teachers and staff, including Mrs. Bell (at left) read the book to their students. FOX 40 WICZ wants to put YOU on television!
FOX 40-WICZ is turning its cameras to students in grades 3-5. Children get a chance to appear on TV during the show Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader. They will read a trivia question during a commercial, and then read the answer to that question later in the show! The student will even win a fun prize pack with items from FOX and contest co-sponsors Visions Federal Credit Union and Friendly’s. A new student will be featured each weekday.
