It's going to be a happier Christmas season for more than twenty families (including sixty children) in the Susquehanna Valley School District, thanks to the generous spirit of our students and school community. Under the guidance of advisors Amy Bennett, Jody Butts, Karen Lyke, Sharon Repp and John Dancesia, SV athletic teams, Student Council, Peer Leaders and National Honor Society members mounted a very successful holiday gift drive. Organizers secured a great deal of support from area businesses...

...Reliable Market donated turkeys for Christmas dinners; Sunset Lanes donated gift certificates; Dick's Sporting Goods donated a golf set; Lowe's donated a gift card to help flood victims build or rebuild; Conklin Volunteer Fire Department and Auxiliary adopted a family of eight to ten people; Main Street Baptist Church adopted a family of six; Binghamton General Hospital's Scheduling Department adopted a family of four; Cold Stone Creamery donated gift cards; The Binghamton University Events Center donated tickets to Bearcats basketball games; student groups donated money - others collected change during lunch periods to help buy gifts.
