Richard T. Stank Middle School opened its doors to area senior citizens November 20 and again December 20 for its annual Thanksgiving luncheon and holiday luncheon, prepared and served by staff and students and hosted by the Student Council Community Service Committee. 147 seniors enjoyed a Thanksgiving meal of turkey and all the trimmings and musical entertainment by the Middle School Saxophone Ensemble under the direction of Mrs. Markstein. The holiday luncheon attracted nearly 170 seniors and again Mrs. Markstein and her students provided musical entertainment. Principal Mr. Doig was joined by Superintendent of Schools Gerardo Tagliaferri, Board of Education President Janice Young and Vice-President Eleanor Hamilton in greeting visiting seniors, serving meals and beverages, and offering welcoming remarks. Following a long-standing tradition at the conclusion of the meal, students lined up to introduce themselves to their guests.
