At a brief ceremony November 3, fifty-four 7th and 8th grade students at Richard T. Stank Middle School joined the National Junior Honor Society. Honor Society officers Shaynne Rodriguez, Joshua Kinney, Rose Green, Julianna Slodki and Rosemary Zelenyak welcomed their classmates into the society with a few words about scholarship, citizenship, service, leadership and character. With parents and friends looking on, the new inductees recited the pledge: "I pledge to uphold the high standards of the National Junior Honor Society to which I have been elected; I will be true to the principles for which it stands; I will be loyal to my school, and will maintain and encourage high standards of Character, Scholarship, Service, Leadership and Citizenship."
