SV students win awards in PTA contest

Two Susquehanna Valley students have been recognized at the state level in the 2007-08 PTA Reflections program.

Sarah Coddington and Julia Black of Donnelly Elementary School received New York State Awards of Merit in the PTA Reflections "I Can Make A Difference By..." contest. Coddington became a state winner in the Musical Composition primary division and Black became a state winner in the Photography intermediate division. The pair will receive a certificate and ribbon.

By winning first place recognition in their respective categories at the school and regional level, the girls' entries were automatically entered at the state level. New York had 31,000 entries overall and each division had between 200 and 300 entries. The top four state winners have their entries displayed at the state convention in Albany.
