School Psychologist (Anticipated)

LOCATION:
Currently Assigned: Secondary Schools

DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate School Psychologist to join our Susquehanna Valley Special Services secondary team. With enrollment of approximately 1,400 students district-wide and approximately 700 students at the middle school and high school level, our School Psychologist plays a critical role in supporting our students and staff and promoting a nurturing school climate with the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead psychological testing and interpretation to determine students' strengths, challenges, and learning needs.
  • Possess strong organizational skills by maintaining accurate scheduling and records, being prepared and meeting deadlines.
  • Collaborate with general education and special education staff to implement strategies and interventions to support students' academic and behavioral success.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of federal and state special education regulations and criteria to help guide decision-making with students' best interest in mind.
  • Work productively with educators, parents, and other stakeholders to create Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), 504 Plans, functional behavioral assessments, behavior intervention plans, and various interventions/supports tailored to students' unique needs.
  • Maintain positive and trusting relationships effectively with key stakeholders (students, parents, staff and the broader community).
  • Act as an active member of the special education team by participating in IEP and 504 meetings, manifestation determination review meetings, team meetings, and others as required within assigned buildings.
  • Provide counseling and crisis intervention services to students, addressing emotional, social and behavioral concerns.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams to develop strategies for school-wide initiatives that promote mental health and well-being.

WORK YEAR: September - June
 
SALARY: Starting salary is $58,000+ DOE

Secretary to the Superintendent

QUALIFICATIONS:
NOTE: This is a competitive job title, which requires the following:
Candidates must meet Civil Service qualifications for the position, and may be appointed by one of the following methods:

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:
     • Possess good knowledge of office technology and procedures
     • Experience with computer technology and relevant clerical software programs

Part Time Cook

 
LOCATION:
District-Wide, Currently assigned: Richard T. Stank Middle School

DESCRIPTION:
•      Experience in mass quantity food preparation, quality control, sanitation, and HACCP
•      Understanding of all State and Federal requirements as they pertain to a child feeding program.
•      General knowledge of nutritional requirements and dietary guidelines.
•      Possess the ability to supervise others
•      Ability to follow both oral and written directions; strong organizational skills, effective time management skills.
•      Must be able to assume the duties of Cook Manager in his/her absence

QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to work with diverse populations; knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding sanitation; dependable and willing to learn.

Bus Driver - Mechanic

 
LOCATION: 
Susquehanna Valley Central School District

DESCRIPTION:
This is manual work requiring skill in the operation of a large motor vehicle, as well as involving responsibility for the safety and conduct of children who are passengers. The work also requires the efficient performance of a variety of automotive repair and machinist tasks. The work is performed under general supervision with leeway allowed for planning the details of each assignment. May, on occasion, direct the work of others. Does related work as required. 
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
     A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college, university, or technical school with an                                          
          Associate's degree or certificate in automotive repair technology, or closely related field; OR 
     B) Two years of experience in an automotive repair shop performing repair and maintenance of automotive equipment               
          under the direction of a journey-level automotive mechanic; OR  
     C) An equivalent combination of training and experience as outlined by the limits of A) and B) above. 
* Must have excellent communication and people skills. Good working relationship with Transportation Department. 
* Must possess a Class B CDL License with PS endorsements.

WORK YEAR:  12 Months - Hours may vary daily (8 hours minimum); may be a split shift

  • Assist the school physician in physical, visual, and auditory screening of students and staff
  • Order and dispense first aid and related health supplies
  • Conduct NYS mandated assessments
  • Serve as health resource for school community
  • Adhere to all NYS regulations regarding the delivery of health services

WORK YEAR: 10 months / 5 days per week or 190 days per year / 7.5 hours per day

SALARY: $22.00 per hour
