MINUTES                                              SPECIAL MEETING                             

of the                                                                         of the                                                      

SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT

Held in the Senior High School Auditorium

Conklin, New York, County of Broome

 

 

Mrs. Mary Rader, Chairperson of the meeting, welcomed those present and called the meeting to order at 11:55 a.m.

 

Mr. Angelo Ranieri, Chief Inspector; the clerks and inspectors; Mr. Mark Gorgos, Legal Advisor to the Board; and Mrs. Rader completed inspection of the voting machines.

 

Mrs. Rader stated that the Board of Education designated Angelo Ranieri as Chief Inspector of Elections and Nancy Mangino as Alternate Chief Inspector. Mrs. Rader asked for a motion allowing for appointment of additional inspectors of election and/or assistant clerks as necessary. Mr. Angelo Ranieri made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Shirley Cox, allowing the Chair to appoint election officials as needed. Upon vote the motion was approved unanimously.

 

At 12:00 p.m. the polls were declared open by Mrs. Rader.

At 8:55 p.m. Mrs. Rader asked that anyone wanting to vote be in line to sign the poll list and complete their vote.

Everyone present completed their vote.

At 9:00 p.m. Mrs. Rader declared the polls closed.

The poll list was tallied. One book registered a total of 587.

The machine counter (#61376) read a total of 587.

 

The number of votes cast:

Proposition 2

   Feasibility Study                                  YES – 204               NO – 365

 

There were five absentee ballots, two were disallowed for not having an application. The absentee ballots were opened

and tallied. The results were:

THE OFFICIAL RESULTS WERE READ BY MRS. RADER:

Proposition 2

   Feasibility Study                                  YES – 205               NO – 367           PROPOSITION WAS DEFEATED

 

Mrs. Rader adjourned the meeting at 9:10 p.m.
