MINUTES                                           SPECIAL DISTRICT MEETING                       

of the                                                                         of the                                                      

SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT

Held in the Senior High School Auditorium

Conklin, New York, County of Broome

 

 

 

Mrs. Rosalynn Morgan, Chairperson of the meeting, welcomed those present and called the meeting to order at 11:55 a.m.

 

Mr. Angelo Ranieri, Chief Inspector; the clerks and inspectors; Mr. Mark Gorgos, Legal Advisor to the Board; and Mrs. Morgan completed inspection of the voting machines.

 

Mrs. Morgan stated that the Board of Education designated Angelo Ranieri as Chief Inspector of Elections and Nancy Mangino as Alternate Chief Inspector. Mrs. Morgan asked for a motion allowing for appointment of additional inspectors of election and/or assistant clerks as necessary. Mr. Angelo Ranieri made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Jean Terry, allowing the Chair to appoint election officials as needed. Upon vote the motion was approved unanimously.

 

At 12:00 p.m. the polls were declared open by Mrs. Morgan.

At 8:55 p.m. Mrs. Morgan asked that anyone wanting to vote be in line to sign the poll list and complete their vote.

Everyone present completed their vote.

At 9:00 p.m. Mrs. Terry declared the polls closed.

The poll list was tallied. Three books registered a total of 1504.

The machine counters (#61376 and #63861) read a total of 1504.

The number of votes cast:

      Budget        YES – 729         NO – 766

There were 23 absentee ballots. The absentee ballots were opened and tallied:

      Budget        YES – 11           NO – 12

           

OFFICIAL RESULTS:

BUDGET – ($28,662,867)                  YES – 740              NO – 778              BUDGET WAS DEFEATED

Mrs. Morgan adjourned the meeting at 9:15 p.m.
